Dealing with Anxiety & Depression
Worrying Ruins the Present Moment
Anxiety comes from looking into the past or future and usually it’s about the future. Worrying about the future is ruining your present moment that’s the only thing you have. #anxiety

Watch the Thinker and Replace Your Worry
I realize that worrying is part of our animal instincts and it kept our species alive. If you can take yourself out of it and “watch the thinker,” you can replace your worry with whatever you want. #anxiety #mindfulness

My Father Didn’t Show Up
When I was nine or 10, my dad was supposed to pick me up from the last baseball game of the night. I was waiting on the bleachers and the lights clicked off. He never showed up and the only way I got home was because a friend’s parent drove by the stadium. Going through those dark times made me stronger. #depression #darkness

My Father Passed Away When I Was 15

I think that once my father actually passed away, I stopped fearing death and feared a life unlived. That negative has turned into a positive for me. #death #fear

Live Life Like You’re Driving a Car at Night
The way you should live your life is like driving a car at night. You know where you want to go, but you can’t see the entire route. You can only see the 40 feet that the headlights will show. #lifepurpose

I Was Working 110 hours a Week
My father died when I was 15. When I was 20, I was working around 110 hours a week. I was trying to escape the past and all the uncertainty of it by working as hard as I possibly could. #death

The Jackhammers and the Hummingbirds
There are jackhammers and hummingbirds. Jackhammers figure out what they want and put all their energy into it. Hummingbirds go to a flower, get all the nectar that it can out of it and go on to the next flower. Most people are hummingbirds. #lifepurpose

Bonds, Breakups & the Essence of Relationships
Our Soulmates Aren’t in Our Life Forever
I don’t think you can truly love somebody else unless you truly love yourself. If you can love and accept every part of yourself, you can love and accept someone else. I think your soulmates are actually the people that aren’t in your life forever; they make you realize everything you need to work on, making you better. #relationship #soulmate #selflove

Conversation to Enlighten
A lot of conversations are very surface level, but the conversations that excite you the most are the ones where you leave and feel like you’re a better person from it. If we have deep intellectual conversation, it’s another step to enlightenment for each person. #TheAOProject #contributorfeedback

Why I Have Mentors
We all have friends that have been in relationships, and you’re on the outside of it looking in. When they’re in the day to day of it, they don’t notice all the problems. When you have a mentor, it’s like having someone on the outside looking in and telling you about this bad relationship in your brain. #productivity #mentors #relationship #coaching

You’re the CEO of Your Life
I used to be a really good excuse maker. My first mentor said to me, “If you get to the end of your life and you look back and think, ‘I wasted it, I made so many excuses that I didn’t do anything near I wanted to do with it,’ whose fault is it? Treat your life as if you’re the CEO of it. #productivity #mentor #success

Helping People Change
When trying to help people around them change, most people are tugboats where they forcefully bring the boat back to shore. Most people should be a lighthouse where you are in the same spot doing your job well. This encourages people around you to see the change you’ve gone through and want the same for themselves. #productivity #change

The Towboat and the Lighthouse
In the book Mindset by Carol Dweck, she says people either have a fixed or growth mindset. A growth mindset is someone who knows he can improve and a fixed mindset is someone who believes he’ll stay the same forever. Can we change people? Too many times we do things through force. #productivity #change

Comfort Zones and How to Get Rid of Them: Part 3
Our brain is not like a rubber band, it’s like a plastic bag. When you pull a plastic bag, it’ll be bigger than it was. If we push ourselves out of our comfort zone, the comfort zone expands. #productivity

Comfort Zones and How to Get Rid of Them: Part 2
The unknown is automatically seen as a threat in our brains. It wants us to remain in our comfort zone. If people can understand how our brain works and why comfort zones exist, they can break those barriers. #productivity

My Knowledge Can Never Be Taken Away
When I bought my first house, I hated it for six months. I was worrying about it all the time. I drove past a homeless person holding up a sign. I realized that if I was in that position, no matter what happens, the knowledge that I’ve gained can never be taken away from me. #productivity #knowledge

To Do List Meditation
I do a to do list meditation. I noticed that when I meditate, sometimes ideas or to do lists pop up. One day, I decided to meditate for 15 or 20 minutes with a pen and paper in hand and whenever an idea popped into my headI wrote it down. When I get done meditating, there’s extreme clarity. #productivity #meditation

The Why Behind the Goal
Most people know what they want but they don’t have a defined, clear goal of what it is that they want. If they do have a goal, sometimes they don’t have a strong why behind it. When you have a strong why behind the goal, you will get it done, no matter what. #productivity #goal

Loving Yourself
Your Mind Is Like a Garden
There’s a book called As a Man Thinketh. He says your mind is like a garden and you’re the only person that can tend to that garden. If you plant strawberry seeds, only strawberries will grow. If you fill your mind up with negativity, how can your outside world be positive? #selflove #positive #negative

You Should Be Full of Yourself
In our culture, you’re not supposed to be full of yourself. It can come off as self-obsessed or narcissistic. My mentor challenges that: “What are we supposed to be full of, if not ourselves?” #selflove #lovingyourself #mentor

The Role of Religion
Ayahuasca and Reality
My friend and I created an analogy to try and explain our Ayahuasca experience. Our entire reality is in a boat and that’s all we can see. We don’t know that there aren’t thousands of other boats around us. When you do Ayahuasca, you’re taken out of the boat and thrown into the ocean. #religion

My Ayahuasca Experience
I had my first Ayahuasca experience a month ago. I’ve always heard people say we’re connected as one, and when I actually took it I saw that. Since that experience, I’ve become more giving, realizing that everything I’m doing for someone else I’m actually doing for me. #harmony #balance
