The Pursuit of Happiness
There Can’t Be Light Without Darkness
Happiness is an interesting topic because we don’t have to be happy all the time. We can’t have light without darkness so we shouldn’t have the expectation to be happy in every moment. If we’re sad, we should allow that feeling. But we should also know that we all deserve to be happy. #happiness #light #dark

The One Thing
The One Thing by Gary W. Keller and Jay Papasan, is about focusing on doing one thing very well. We can take this concept of doing one thing well and break it down into projects, so we don’t get overwhelmed which leads to inaction. Come back to the present, and try focusing on what you can do right now. #productivity #planning #timemanagement #books

If You Want it, Do It
It’s okay to want to do something and figure out a way. I was the first person to go to college in my family, and I saw a flyer up for a travel opportunity to Malawi, Africa. I spent a year saving up and had an incredible experience there. I found more opportunities around the world because I decided I wanted to do these things. Know that there is a way. #productivity #wordsintoactions #justdoit #actions

Only so Much Time in a Day
You can only do so many things in a day, so ask yourself what is the one thing I need to get done today? At the end of the day, let go of the little details that didn’t get done. If we can have peace with where we are now, we can set ourselves up for success the next day. #productivity #planning #timemanagement

Loving Yourself
Self-Love is a Journey: We're All Figuring It Out As We Go
Self-love is a journeyn I like to say we’re all beautiful works of art in progress. There’s an idea of loving the good, bad and ugly. If you’re acting ugly, reflect on why you’re acting that way. At the same time, acknowledge your journey, just as others are on theirs. #lovingyourself #selflove

Facing the Fear
I was living in Hawaii a few months and went hiking with my friends. I saw people jumping off a waterfall and I refused to jump. I went into observation mode and saw that people emerging from the water were smiling. Acknowledge that when we’re afraid of something, maybe we need to act upon it. Fear is sometimes facing questions we’ve been dodging. #TheAOProject #bigquestions #fear #vulnerability

We’re Stretched As Humans When We’re Uncomfortable
It’s really important to talk about these questions. At the end of the day, why don’t we talk about these difficult but important topics? That’s because it takes vulnerability, but I believe we’re stretched as humans when we feel uncomfortable. #TheAOProject #bigquestions

On Death: Fear & Other Feelings
Death as a Positive Impetus
I think we can use the statement “I’m going to die” as a positive impetus for doing something that will give back to the world. Knowing our lives will end at some point can drive us to act on things that will give back. Hopefully what you’re doing now is what you would still be doing if you knew you were going to die tomorrow. #death #time #mortality #actions

Bonds, Breakups & the Essence of Relationships
The Five Love Languages
The five love languages state that we express and feel love in different ways. How we express love tends to be the way we want to feel loved. My parents taught me about a lot about love and that arguing can be a sign of us projecting our own insecurities upon someone else. #relationship #romantic #communication

Bonds, Breakups & the Essence of Relationships
When the Waters Get Rough
I think relationships can get tested when we’re going through our own trials because we intuitively lock ourselves in as a self-defense mechanism. Acknowledging when we’re isolating ourselves and opening up to someone makes you feel connected to them and the world. #relationship #connection

Entrepreneurs & The E-Myth
The E-myth by Michael E. Gerber is a wonderful book for entrepreneurs. It touches upon how entrepreneurs don’t have to be and do everything, but they need to know how to delegate tasks in order to optimize their time. #productivity #planning #timemanagement

The Role of Religion
What Gets You Through Your Day?
For me, religions as a word can be ostracizing, so I call it spirituality. What gets you through your day? Oftentimes we turn to religion when we’re down on our luck, but at the end of the day, it’s all about whatever gets you through your day and guides you in being good to others. #religion #spirituality #beliefs #good

Dealing with Anxiety & Depression
The Power in Numbers
I broke my arm a couple of years ago, hindering me from doing many things. I went into a depression, and I think if I opened up to others and allowed myself to be vulnerable, I could’ve dug myself out of that hole. There’s power in numbers and not in isolation. #anxiety #depression #isolation #vulnerability

Being Alone & Feeling Alone
Vulnerability and Loneliness
Speaking about loneliness, vulnerability comes up. We tend to isolate ourselves and feel ostracized from the rest of the world. While it takes vulnerability to talk to someone about our feelings, sharing our thoughts is beneficial to getting over loneliness. #loneliness #vulnerability

Finding & Fulfilling Our Purpose

We are a culmination of our experiences. Therefore, our purpose doesn’t have to be one thing. Our life purpose evolves, and by listening to what’s going on around us, we can see how we can fulfill a need in the world. #lifepurpose #purpose

Achieving Harmony & Balance
You Are Here
Lao Tzu said if you’re depressed you’re living in the past, if you’re anxious you’re living in the future and if you’re at peace, you’re living in the now. We’re constantly living in the past or future. When things get chaotic, hit the pause button and focus on the now. You are here. #harmony #inthemoment #bepresent
