The Beautiful Gift of Authenticity
One of the biggest things we can do for each other to help in a small way is to be authentic about our stories. We don’t know how they’ll help someone else. AlphaOmega is letting people be honest and tell their true stories. #TheAOProject #bigquestions

On Death: Fear & Other Feelings
Chronological Time Versus Experiential Time
One of my biggest life lessons learned is time and how it's finite. I interviewed John Coyle recently about time. He talks about chronological time versus experiential time. As an adult, summer flies by compared to when we're kids. That's because as we grow, we start to shrink our experiences. #death #time

Productivity
Structuring The Day Around Energy
I am actually really energetic in the mornings. I have to say that. I don't drink coffee, so I am just really naturally, I think, energetic in the morning, but I will say this, once it hits about 7:30 at night, I'm low energy, so I put all of those tasks, those smaller tasks of maybe replying to some emails or anything that don't require quite as much brain power, I'll put that towards the end of the night because I just don't have it in me. I can't think of anything creatively. If you ask me to come up with a snippy title for something, I have nothing for you. If I needed to talk to someone that late at night to do a podcast interview, I probably won't be as strong as I would be at other parts of the day because at that point I'm a little zapped, a little fatigued. It's about structuring my day that way. The energy's just natural when it comes in the morning and then later on at night if I do have to stay awake, I'm really guilty and I drink Coke Zero and that would probably be the way that I stay awake.

Productivity
Being Busy Isn't the Same as Being Productive
Often times people say there's not enough time, that, you know, there's not enough of it, the commute, this and that, but I really do think that there's always ways to find pockets of time to clean out an inbox in your email, to go grocery shopping, to find a movie, to catch a movie, to read a book. There are these pockets where we can actually get these things done. I think we have to peel back the automated pilot of saying we don't have enough time and actually differentiate between whether or not we're busy or we're actually being productive, which I think are two different things. So where are you spending your time? If you tell me where you're spending your time, I'll tell you what's important to you and if a lot of your time is spent watching Netflix, then I would challenge that you probably have more time than you think you do.

Productivity
Start with the Biggest Challenge
Productivity is one of my favorite topics. Having a full-time job while pursuing my passion for podcasting made me very much a systems person. I always try to start with the biggest challenge first while it's fresh in my mind. I'll also do tasks simultaneously if I can, such as running laundry while I'm reading work emails. #productivity #timemanagement

Money, Society & Status
Oscillating Between Two Lives
I grew up in a tough area of the Bronx with parents from Cuba and Puerto Rico, but at the same time I went to great schools. I often say I lived in two different worlds. I had the weekend me, who wore baggy jeans and hoops. I also had the weekday me, who wore my school uniform and polished shoes. Oscillating between these identities helped me grow. I got to understand, experience and adapt to two different ways of life. #socialstatus #money

Make Your Connections Fuller
Social media, like everything, has its place. Too much of anything can be bad. I always try to encourage people to go out there and make those "belly to belly" connections with others. It makes your experience fuller. #socialmedia #socialstatus

Finding & Fulfilling Our Purpose
Hearing From My Podcast Listeners
The most exciting things for me since starting my podcast are the people I’ve met and the listeners I hear from. When someone I’ve never met listens to my voice, amongst 400,000 podcasts out there, and says that this inspired them to try something else, that’s huge for me. #lifepurpose #purpose #inspiration

Taking Action to Move Forward
I felt stuck in a job, so I needed to shake things up. I signed up for a Spartan race and three days later I decided to start a podcast. I needed a little bit of chaos to move forward. Once I put my podcast out there and there was action behind it, I loved it. #lifepurpose #purpose #inspiration #hobbies #path #GetItDone #productivity

Finding & Fulfilling Our Purpose
How I Started My Podcast
I’ve been in corporate America for over 15 years and eventually felt like I was wearing clothes that no longer fit. At one point in my career, I found space to play and find out what I could do. I came to a crossroad when I realized I had more than one passion. I decided to just try something, and I bought a microphone and started a podcast. #lifepurpose #purpose #inspiration #path

Finding & Fulfilling Our Purpose
You Can Be More Than One Thing
Life happens in stages, and at different stages we have different purposes tied to it. As kids, we’re almost set up by the question: what do you want to be when you grow up. It gives them the idea that you have to be one thing. You don’t have to pick just one thing. #lifepurpose #purpose

Bonds, Breakups & the Essence of Relationships
Empathy Is Our Greatest Gift
The biggest gift we can give is to be empathetic. One of the key things we should work on is to try to put ourselves in the shoes of others. The world needs more empathy right now. If you can realize someone else's experience is theirs and not yours, it goes a long way in helping others. #relationship #mindfulness

Bonds, Breakups & the Essence of Relationships
As We Grow, We Can Grow Apart
Relationships can change form. As we grow, our lives can take different paths. I had a friend that I was close with since 6th grade, but we grew into different paths. We both let go in a natural way. I always believe there’s a time where we’ll move back, it’s just not at this moment. #relationship #path #friendship #growth

Don't Take Things Personally: Here's Why
I read The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, and one of the agreements was to not take things personally. When I first read that book in 2011, I didn't agree. Seven years later, I now realize that what people say is their perception of you. It's more personal to that person saying it. #selflove #selfawareness

I Reframed What Fear and Rejection Meant
Fear and rejection used to weigh on me differently before than now. I started reframing what fear and rejection meant to me. Overanalyzing situations is rooted in fear. Since starting the podcast, when it comes to rejection, I'm more okay with getting "no" as an answer. It can always turn into a "maybe". #selflove #lovingyourself #selfawareness

Self-Love Is a Continual Practice
Self-love is a continuous reminder we need to give ourselves. One great thing about getting older is that you start to own who you are. I’ve become more sure of who I am as a woman. I realize what I think about myself matters most. #selflove #lovingyourself #selfawareness

I Let Myself Feel the Emotions: Part 2
Let yourself feel how you feel. After realizing I neglected so many things for a past relationship, I allowed myself to go through the negative emotions that came with that realization. I gave myself time to heal and came out a stronger woman. #depression #sadness #inthemoment

Dealing with Anxiety & Depression
I Let Myself Feel the Emotions: Part 1
I was in a relationship that didn’t work out, which floored me in a way I didn’t expect. When I realized I was focusing on this relationship so much that I neglected myself, my career and other relationships, it knocked me down for a long time. It took me a while to get out of it because I’m a big believer of letting yourself fully feel. #depression #sadness #inthemoment

The Pursuit of Happiness
Fun Isn’t Just for Kids
As a teenager, my grandmother really wanted to go to Spain. She earned her own money, but was a traditionalist. She passed away never going. I remember thinking how sad it was knowing she had the money and time to go but never went. If we can allow ourselves to realize fun isn’t just for kids, our lives would be much better. #happiness #joy

Have Fun - It's An Essential Part of Life
Instead of experiencing heightened emotions as children do, adults fall into routines. We don't encourage adults to take time out of their lives to do something fun. Having fun is an essential part of our lives. #happiness #joy #children #adulthood #fun

My Favorite Moments from Traveling 48 States
Travelling around 48 states, I can think of the songs I was listening to in the moments I’ve enjoyed the most. I bring my love of music and travel together and that always creates standout memories. I’ve also had small standout moments. For example, getting myself locked out of my car at the beach in California gave me 2 hours to actually enjoy the beach. #joy #happiness #gratitude

Happiness In Individual Moments
Happiness is stages and moments. I think we try to reach a nirvana of happiness that doesn’t exist. I try focusing on finding happiness in individual moments, like when I’m playing with my nieces. #happiness #gratitude #family
